Nanotechnology application and polymers: mentoring programs

Veneto Nanotech and IMAST are still scouting national and international teams of scientists, researchers and entrepreneurs with start-up ideas and projects in nanotechnology and polymer-based materials, to identify the most promising business opportunities and invest money in them.

Anybody from anywhere with a breakthrough nanotechnology application or polymer-based materials application can register for Nanochallenge and Polymerchallenge 2010 and submit the business idea by following the instructions available on the website www.nanochallenge.com. The deadline for the submission of Executive Summaries is on September 20, 2010.

A scientific jury will select the best scientific ideas received by September 20 for the Final Contest that will be held in Padua, Italy, on November 25 and 26. In October, finalist teams will benefit from mentoring programs and support by Veneto Nanotech consultants to develop a feasible business plan. Ultimately, an international jury composed by venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and scientific experts will evaluate the start-up projects and select the best ones. Veneto Nanotech, the Italian Cluster of Nanotechnology, and IMAST, Italian Cluster for polymeric and composite materials and structures, will invest a total amount of 600.000 euro in the best business opportunities.

Winning teams have the real opportunity to start their businesses in an economic and scientific environment that is one of the most productive of Europe: the Veneto Region and Veneto Nanotech, the Italian Cluster of Nanotechnology, located in the north east of Italy.
